Pony Club Victoria has created a Return to Play plan which was submitted to the Victorian Government Expert Advisory Panel (the Panel) for review, it has been accepted as a suitable plan to return to activity.
The Panel was established to provide a governance model and clear process for following the Chief Health Officer’s (CHO) advice for the development and consideration of Return to Play plans. The development of Return to Play plans will support our clubs in the resumption of sport and recreation in Victoria whilst maintaining a safe environment for participants, coaches, support staff, volunteers and the community.
Pony Club Victoria is pleased to announce our plan was reviewed against the CHO Direction (Restricted Activity Direction No 9) that was announced as beginning on 1 June 2020 and accepted as fitting the restrictions currently in place.
The level of infection in Victoria is a reflection on the effectiveness of the current restrictions and any decision to ease or change these will be made based on advice from the CHO. The situation continues to rapidly change so we urge everyone to regularly check coronavirus.vic.gov.au for updates.
Pony Club Victoria will revisit our plan and make amendments as appropriate each time a new direction is issued by the CHO. Clubs will be notified if the Return to Play Plan alters.
What action is required by your club?
All clubs are required to develop their own Return to Play Plan based on our Pony Club plan. A template has been developed that makes it easy for clubs to complete. These plans do not need to be submitted, but are required to be kept available on site to support your club activity if requested by authorities.
A Pony Club Training Session Attendance Register has been created to assist with recording attendees whenever a gathering is held. This form includes everything required, or clubs may create their own record that collects this basic information. Some COVID safe practice posters have also been created for clubs to use at your grounds and whilst conducting activities, and should be displayed.
